Ashley Bowman joined Bird Marella in 2015 and brings extensive experience in white collar defense and several areas of litigation, including commercial contract disputes, privacy law, and legal malpractice. She has also gained experience in civil enforcement actions and pro bono representation of immigration clients.

Prior to joining Bird Marella, Ashley was an associate in the Century City office of O’Melveny & Myers, LLP where she was a member of the Business Trial and Litigation practice group. She has impressive volunteer experience with civil rights organizations, the public defender’s office and a pro bono firm’s immigration department.

  • Successfully obtained dismissal with prejudice on behalf of two British agencies that regulate the practice of law in the United Kingdom against broad-ranging RICO, defamation, and other claims brought by two disbarred British solicitors in federal court. The decision was affirmed on appeal and followed by a memorandum decision by the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, completing an appellate sweep.

  • Won summary judgment on a multimillion-dollar breach of contract claim brought by a government subcontractor in federal court.

  • Secured complete dismissal of a consumer protection class action brought against a software and medical device company in Arizona Federal Court against claims of unjust enrichment, economic harm, and violations of the California Unfair Competition Law.

  • Successfully obtained a pre-trial dismissal of murder charges against the founder of a publicly traded company that runs substance abuse facilities.
