Jonathan M. Jackson joined Bird Marella in 2019 and focuses his practice on complex commercial and intellectual property litigation.

Jonathan has successfully represented clients in a variety of high-stakes matters in state and federal court, at both the trial and appellate level, in commercial arbitration proceedings, and before the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO). He has worked on a broad spectrum of litigation matters including patent and trade secret litigation, trademark and copyright disputes, defending and asserting claims brought under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO), commercial contract litigation, real estate disputes, unfair competition claims, and a variety of business torts.

Prior to joining the firm, Jonathan practiced for several years at Latham & Watkins LLP as a litigation associate. He served as a law clerk to the Honorable Carlos T. Bea of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the Honorable Stephen V. Wilson of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. Jonathan received his J.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law, where he graduated first in his class and served as the managing editor of the UCLA Law Review.
